Have you created anything for Easter yet? I made these two baskets last week and wanted to share a tutorial. I found the template on Splitcoaster Stamper website. This link will take you to a message board where the template is attached. Serious shout out to everybody at Splitcoaster Stampers who shares their templates, tutorials, and talent. It's an awesome place to find inspiration!!
You can print the template right to your cardstock. But I printed mine out on regular printer paper, cut it out and used it to trace. The template is enough to print out 2 baskets and 2 basket liners. Gather up your template, paper, sticky tape, and scissors!! I am using paper from the April kit from Moments 2 Remember.
Trace your template onto the paper and cut out the paper.
Score the paper where the dotted lines should be and make the folds.
Add Sticky Tape to the tabs, and fold up the basket so it's nice and secure. Tape runner probably won't be enough, use really sticky tape or glue dots.
The trace the basket liner template onto the paper you want to line your basket. It will peek up over the basket edge, so pick something that coordinates. I then used my threading water punch to give the liner edges some fun appeal.
Score where the dotted lines should be.
Place the liner inside the basket and secure with sticky tape.
Doesn't it look like a little boat?? Remember that Curious George story where George is supposed to deliver the newspapers but instead makes boats out of them all and sails them down the river?? Okay...I digress.
Cut a piece of paper 1" x 6" for the handle. Secure again with sticky tape.
You can now embellish with whatever you want. Add some ribbon, a tag, some ric rac, flowers...whatever you want!! Yes, they are small but I found they do hold a fair amount of candies!! These would be so cute as place settings at your Easter table or as Birthday goodie baskets or a little something for your co-workers or for your child's teacher...or just for yourself!!
I hope you make some of these cuties for somebody. If you do, leave me a comment with a link. I'd love to see your projects!! Happy Wednesday everybody!
Love these! I want to make some but I'm afraid the candy would never make it out the door IN the baskets.....
