Did anybody else out there enter the Sprout Contest over at Jillibean Soup?? Sprouts are their super cute journaling cards and they challenged everybody to use their sprouts in a creative way. I got my entry in under the wire but I'm so glad I finally carved out some time to complete it. I mean, my kids don't need to eat dinner every night...right???
This is my entry...my Love Altered Photo Frame. I took the glass and backing out of the frame. I covered that cardboard piece that comes inside the frame with kraft cardstock, then did a whitewash treatment on it. I just mixed a little bit of white acrylic paint with water and brushed it on the cardstock.
I used their sprouts for the layered flowers that fill the frame. I also made some accordian flowers. Now that I got my hands on a glue gun (ouch! those things really get hot!!), these flowers are so much easier to make and they actually hold together!
The LOVE letters are the Jillibean corrugated cardboard letters that I inked. And the cute little photo is of my two loves. I turned the photo black and white and then color-popped my son's blue baseball hat.
And to finish it off...Jillibean ribbon!! I love this wide ribbon, it was the final touch that I added to my frame.
90% of the materials on this project are Jillibean Soup. And I got it all in a great kit from Citrus Tree Studio! I think it was their May kit...so much fun stuff in that kit. There you have it, my Sprouts Entry. It's one of my most favorite home decor pieces I have ever made. I keep moving it around the house, trying to find the perfect home for it. Or it might end up in my office at work, I can't decide!
***Edited to all that I won an honorable mention for my project on the Jillibean Soup Blog!!!***
Thanks for stopping by...Hope you all have a Great Friday!!
Totally adorable. I love this frame. What a cute compliment to other framed family pics. Well done.
