I'm loving cards right now...

So, I'm not much of a card maker. But Jen over at Itty Bitty Scrap Shack makes amazing cards and has been inspiring me to try some of my own! Just thought i'd share a few!

Here's one using Crate Paper and my new circle stamps from Inque Boutique:

I made these using my Autumn Leaves circle saying stamps:

This one I used Fancy Pants paper and I broke out my watercolor pencils and blending pen to create those stamped flowers on the side. My first attempt at something like that:

I used Piggy Tales paper and a CTMH set of stamps that were brand new, hadn't opened yet! I embellished a bit with stickles:

One more card using the Itty Bitty kit from February. I used glimmer mist on the chipboard for that special sparkly touch!!

I loved making these and will probably continue to make cards. I love using my stamps and making a project that only takes a bit of time. Still figuring out what sizes to make and how to embellish, for some reason the small canvas intimadates me! Check out Jen's card challenge blog, Caardvarks. It's pretty cool with lots of inspiration!!

Valentine Love!!!

We had a fantastic Valentine's Day. The kids had a ball with their parties at school and came home with gobs of cards and treats. I made a red velvet cake (thanks, Beth J!!) and we frosted and decorated it Valentine's night. I think it will become a tradition, the kids and DH loved it.

Hope you all had a day filled with Love!!!

Chalk Art

My kids LOVE drawing with chalk in the backyard. In fact, they LOVE crafts, especially my daughter. She will literally have scissors and paper flying all over the family room. It's like a mine field of scraps. Anyway, I love the weather is getting nicer and the kids can go outside. Chalk is easy to hose off and then they can create again. My daughter and I made this family portrait this weekend and thought it was too cute!!!

Okay, i'm off to watch The Biggest Loser!!

The fish were NOT biting!

We went fishing today at Lake Piru. It was awesome, except for the fact that we didn't catch diddly-squat!!! The kids got fishing gear for Christmas and they were SO excited. They dug up worms in our garden and were ready to go. Both kids got the hang of casting after a few lessons from dad. I was AMAZED how patient they both were. We spent all morning there. The lake wasn't that pretty, lots of debris from the recent storms and the water level was low. But we had a fantastic time!!!!
