Handmade flower tutorial

Happy Monday everyone! I saw this cool tutorial on the Jillibean Soup blog for making handmade flowers. I decided to do my own tutorial and share it over at Camp Paradise today. It was very easy to make and adds a fun handmade touch to a card or layout. Ready????? All the paper is from the Fancy Pants line My Family.

1. Punch out 2 scalloped circles of different sizes. You could also use your cricut or die cutting machine (if you have one).

2. Cut between the scallops about 1 inch into the circle. Do this for each circle punched.

3. Using a pencil, roll the petals under to create a 3-D look. I also inked the edges with white ink.

4. Layer the two flowers using pop dots or foam tape. Cut a smaller circle to add to the middle of the flower.

5. Add it to a project!!

You can add whatever you want to the center, buttons, another small flower, bling, the possibilities are endless. This is a great way to stretch your patterned paper, make your own embellies, and maybe even use up some scraps. Thanks to Juliana Michaels, from the Jillibean Soup DT, who first posted this tutorial. I love these flowers and I will be making more!!

Hope you are staying cool this Monday. The weather was a bit nicer today, but still feels like summer out there! Thanks for stopping by, friends...

I love this idea! I've always wondered how to give flowers depth when I use paper instead of silk. Thanks!
