CPS sketch + Momenta

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend. Did you celebrate National Scrapbooking Day? Did you indulge in a margarita for Cinco de Mayo? I have to say that I did both. I spent the weekend on a scrapbook retreat with 9 of my closest scrappy girlfriends and we had quite the weekend. Plus I managed to get a bit of scrapping done, too.

Momenta is the sponsor for the Card Positioning System sketch blog this week and I was happy to provide a sample. I do love a good sketch and I really liked this one with all the layers.

I used the Candy Blossoms 5x7 paper pad for the base of this card and then just started adding layers.

I added some clear layered stickers (Emily's Garden) and a mini vellum quote for the sentiment. If you are not a stamper, Momenta makes so many different mini vellum quotes that are just perfect for cards.

And just a touch of baker's twine to finish it off!

Why don't you give this sketch a try? Link back to the CPS sketch blog for a chance to win some great Momenta products!

I feel like i'm woefully behind on visiting all my favorite blogs but I plan on catching up this week. Hope your week is off to a great start. Thanks for stopping by!

May-A Year In Review

It's Review day at My Time Made Easy! This is where we mix and match older and newer products to create a fun gift set to give something we love. I really enjoy seeing what everybody does with all the products. It's always nice to re-discover products we already have and use them again.

When I first saw the Well Contained template in March I thought...this would make such fun treat boxes for my scrappy girlfriends! Well, this weekend I am off on a scrapbook weekend with my scrappy girlfriends and guess what...I made them treat boxes with this template!

I made a total of 12 of these boxes for the weekend. We have 12 girls going and I always try to make 1 extra...just in case. I used some older cut files called Flag 'em Down to create the scalloped hearts.

I double matted the heart and then added a sentiment from the Round Off stamp set.

I was at Target looking for treats for this cute boxes and ran across a family sized bag of Snickers. And it was a MIXED bag of Snickers so it included the regular bars, the almond bars and the new peanut butter Snickers. I think I might have squealed out loud!!! These candies are my favorites, good thing they are just 'fun' sized.

There were a couple of extra candies, which was perfect because I needed to do some quality control before actually giving them away. I love how these boxes give you a peek of what's inside with the front window.

So while I am scrapping and chatting away with my girlfriends this weekend, please check out all the talented design team members and their projects...

Thanks so much for stopping by today friends!

More Bloomin' Wonderful

Are you enjoying the My Time Made Easy release this month? I have another project to show you today that features a NEW template called Bloomin' Wonderful. Seriously, how fun is this?

This is such a fun and unique gift box! The top is a great open flower that you can embellish with another paper flower, felt flowers, fabric flowers, anything really!

I used the Rolled Bloom Daisy cut file to top off my box. I also used a previous stamp set called Round Off for the sentiment and the Fine Finish cut files for matting my stamp.

I created a small matching gift card using the same papers from the Coffee Beans set. I added another rolled daisy to the card to coordinate everything.

You can imagine all the possibilities with this box...fill it with candies, round soaps, a candle, bottle of lotion or bath gel...so many possibilities! And this template comes together very quickly. Don't let the fancy top intimidate you. Only you will know how easy it comes together and your recipient will be impressed!

Please have a look at more great projects from the MTME team today!

Blooming Wonderful Ideas-MTME Release Day!

Happy May 1st everybody! It's release day at My Time Made Easy and Lauren and the design team have some great projects to share today. I am really excited to share my project today because it's a bit unusual for this time of year. I want you all to meet my penguin friend!

Isn't he cute??? There is a new template this month called Treasured and it looks just like a treasure box. Lauren challenged us to see it as something else...and a penguin was my first thought. I had so much fun putting this together with my kids. They helped me get the face and feet and wings just right. And it's a great sized box, check out how deep it is!

Do you want to see what's inside? Well, let's open up his head and take a look...

I used the It's Snowing cut files to create these snowflakes and the Plum Pretties papers for embellishing. Inside the box you will find some hot cocoa and marshmallows. Just perfect for keeping you warm on this beautiful May day!

And a cute little 3.5 x 3.5 inch card to also go inside the penguin box. I used the Warm Sentiments stamp set for the sentiment.

I used the Warm Sentiment stamp set and the It's Snowing cut files to create the sign my penguin is holding. I just punched a hole in his wing and secured the sign with my hot glue gun.

Now I know most of you are not looking for a warm cup of cocoa in May but this just goes to show how versatile these templates are! I am sure I will find a good home for this little guy when the weather gets colder in the winter.

Now it's your chance to check out all the other design team members projects today! Yeah for group posts!!

Thanks for stopping by today friends!!

A Day For Dad

Hi Everyone! I'm very excited to share this sneak peek of a new template from My Time Made Easy!  It's called Blue Collar and will be available May 1st. There are also new great digital paper sets, stamp sets and cut files that will be perfect for Father's Day.

Isn't that a fun box template?? It's shaped like a shirt and you can make it casual (like I did) or add a collar and tie to fancy it up. You could even decorate it like a favorite baseball or football jersey. And it's a good sized box, this will definitely fit quite a bit of stuff. It's even big enough for a set of A2 sized cards!

See that green and blue paper? It's new this month and it's perfect for masculine projects. It's called Vintage Flourishes Bright and I also used it for the card. The tie and sentiment come from a new stamp set called Dads Day To Relax.

This stamp set is full of punny sentiments and matching images. It's a fun set!

The Blue Collar template includes a cut file for a tie that you can embellish your box with. I decided to use it to create a bottle tag. This would be a perfect touch on dad's favorite bottle of beer or root beer.

And here is my Father's Day gift set all together!

When I create, I tend to be drawn to girly things like bling and flowers and ruffly ribbon. These products from MTME this month will make it so easy to create great masculine projects as well. And just in time for Father's Day! I know, it's not until June. But you can never start planning too early to make crafty gifts.

Please check out the other talented members of My Time Made Easy...lots to share today!

I hope you are ready to see more incredible MTME products over the next few days. Thanks for stopping by today, friends!

She-Art Girl workshop

I have really been enjoying seeing all the mixed media art out there lately. It's something that i've never done before and I wanted to learn more. I signed up a while ago for Christy Tomlinson's She-Art Girl workshop and have been slowly working my way through her amazing videos. It was hard for me to get started on my own canvas. I felt like I was going to mess it up or do something wrong. A few of my scrappy friends encouraged me to just do it! So I finally did.

I had some friends over this past weekend and we all played with canvases, paper and paint. I had a big stack of leftover Basic Grey papers and I picked through it for some color inspiration. I tried to use as many stamping techniques as I could from the workshop videos. I used a Tattered Angels glimmer mist mask with acrylic paint and that didn't work out too well, ha ha! I ended up covering much of that mask with other random paint and stamping.

I also raided my stash of rubons and used a ton of them. I used some heart stamps I forgot I owned and also stamped with bubble wrap, mesh wire, and toilet paper rolls.

I had SO much fun making this canvas. By the end of the day my hands were covered with paint and I had modge podge in my hair. This is the most fun I've had with my scrap supplies in a while. I will definitely be making more of these. I do need some work on the head/hair/neck dimensions. This girl is heading towards having an afro and the poor thing has no neck!!

Have you ever done any mixed media art? This is my first dive into the pool and so far i'm enjoying it. Thanks for stopping by today!
