Spring is in the Air!!

What a beautiful weekend! It was absolutely gorgeous and it feels like spring is here. My kids had baseball/softball games on Saturday which were fun. We're off to a good start of the season and nothing says spring like baseball. And today we went hiking and geocaching. Wildwood Park is so close but when you get there it's amazing to think this place has been in our own backyard. Miles and miles of hiking trails...

My daughter isn't that good at walking. I mean, she can walk just fine. But hiking isn't really her thing, it doesn't take long before the whining sets in. So we have to have a really cool destination to look forward to. Today it was this teepee...

And this 70 foot waterfall!!

I knew it would be flowing due to all the rain we've had and it did not disappoint! Very cool!! There were also lots of flowers starting to bloom. I really need to brush up on my local flora knowledge because I have no idea what this is. And it's probably native and I should probably know.

And then we got down to business...geocaching!!!!

Geocaching is like treasure hunting. Anybody can hide a geocache anywhere on public property. That person logs the coordinates on a website and we can download those coordinates to our GPS device. We then know where to find the treasure...or at least where it should be...Kayla was not happy when she found out the treasure was UP another hill!

Seriously, look at that blue sky! Could it be any prettier?? Back to geocaching...and back to where the treasure should be...

Well, it wasn't there...and it wasn't here either!

We didn't find our treasure today. Which was quite the bummer. And we got busted by our 7 year old who can now read all the signs and discovered we went OFF the trail and that was 'against the law' and there might be a police car waiting for us in the parking lot. Thankfully, there was no police car!! Hope you are having a great weekend!!

Moments 2 Remember March Reveal!!

This month at Moments 2 Remember, we had the pleasure of working with some NEW papers from Dream Street, Secret Garden. They are SOOO pretty in person!! Pair them with some fun felt flowers (handmade by Diva Sarah) glittery letters and Kaiser gems and you have yourself a great kit!





I had lots of fun with my Cricut this month. For this layout, I used the Accent Essentials cartridge to cut out all these flowers!



And I still have a ton of paper left over. So I made some cards!!!

Snow Photos!!!

Just a warning...this post is very photo heavy!! We spent last weekend in Alta Sierra, enjoying some nice spring snow weather. The weather was gorgeous, but there was enough snow around to have some serious fun!! Here's the cabin where we stayed:

4 families, 15 people in the cabin. I think there was plenty of room for everybody. The cabin had a spiral staircase right in the middle that went up to the loft. Can you guess where the kids played all weekend??

The first morning we spent at the Alta Sierra Ski Resort. There was a tubing run and skiing. We first did the tube run. At the bottom of the tube hill, you hauled your tube to the conveyor belt, where they attached you to the wire and back up the hill you go!!



Kayla spent 2 hours tubing! I made her stop and take a break, but she whined until she could go back out. She hauled that big tube around for 2 hours, loving every minute of it. Kevin was having a ball as well.


Kevin also took ski lessons. All four boys on the weekend were in the same class. This poor ski instructor did NOT know what was in store for him!!! He sure had his hands full with these first timers!!

Kevin then went down the medium sized hill after his lesson. This was a long, painful process!! He was going so slow and it took him forever to get down. He then came up on the ski lift and had to ski down to the starting point again. He was not very confident, but eventually he made it!!




That afternoon, after lunch, a few dads groomed our own sledding run right outside our cabin. It was awesome! My kids spent all afternoon on this sled run. They couldn't get enough!!



Thank goodness the dads tested the safety of the run before the kids had a chance to play. And thank goodness Craig didn't spill his beer on this run!!


Even I got in on the fun! And thanks to Craig for getting that shot of my backside, falling off the sled!



And because you are not sick of sledding photos yet...here are a few more! I went crazy with my camera this weekend!



So there is our snow trip!!! We are going to try to go every year. The kids just loved it and had so much fun. Craig and I did too!! Maybe next year Kevin will be a little more steady and confidant on the skis and Craig can get some skiing time in as well. Thanks for checking out all my pics!!

Color Me Daisy March Kit!!

I love this photo of Kevin helping me make peanut butter cookies. One of the kids favorite cookies, for sure!!


And my sweet Kayla blowing out her birthday candles on her 5th birthday!! I cut out the bottom of the cupcake from a Starbucks hot cup holder and cut the top on my Cricut. I am loving my Cricut right now!!

Scrap N Supply Shack March Reveal!!

This is my last reveal with Scrap N Supply Shack and the March kit is a beauty!! Lots of beautiful spring papers from Making Memories and Daisy Buckets. Plus, rubons, ribbons, brads, chipboard owls and trees, and all sort of great embellishments! This was a kit that got me looking forward to spring. Great colors in the kit for spring or summer or wedding...okay, pretty much anything!! Here are my layouts...

I LOVE this photo of my sister and my daughter playing Scrabble at Christmas time. They were seriously SO focused and into the game. Scrabble is definitely a family favorite game and we are getting my daughter hooked early. Hee hee...


I made the bling swirl that is coming out of the flower/owl embellie by dotting Stickles onto a transparency in a flourish pattern, letting it dry, cutting it out and adhering it to the layout. I love the look!



This is my daughter, whose main criteria when she wears a dress is the TWIRL factor. She has to give it a test spin in the store to see if it's worthy! LOL!


And my beautiful sister and her new hubbie. This was one of their engagement photos and one of my favorites!!



I also couldn't resist this heart shaped Maya Road chipboard album that was in the SNSS February kit. It was the perfect size to put together a mini of my sister's wedding. I used all wallet sized photos and they were the perfect size.




I used the butterfly rubons and rubbed them onto cardstock, then cut them out. They make cute embellies!!


I really had fun with the rubons in this kit. There were images and letters. They were just perfect to add a little something to eat page of my mini album.
